Blended In-Person Adult Mental Health First Aid for Tribal Communities and Indigenous Peoples

Confidently recognize & respond to someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge or crisis. Provide a strong cultural connection and early intervention with a culturally appropriate course designed to acknowledge and honor Tribal communities and Indigenous Peoples’ practices.

Coursework includes:

  • Pre MHFA evaluations, MHFA 2-hour self-paced online course to complete before the scheduled instructor-led in-person training

  • SMC Application completed together at the beginning of the Instructor-led skill-based session

  • Participation in the Instructor-led skill-based session

  • Post MHFA evaluations and Quiz and SMC Post-Evaluation

Important Information:

  • Must be 18 years and older to register

  • Participants are required to complete all required coursework to receive First Aider Certification

  • First Aid Certification expires in 3 years. A renewal link will be sent to the email used to register

  • Participants are required to attend a minimum of 90% of the course and engage in at least 70% of the activities to qualify for a certificate.
